When will I get a printed detailed itinerary?

Your travel pack, containing your final detailed tour itinerary will be sent approximately two weeks prior to departure.

What happens if a group tour does not reach its minimum numbers? Will it be cancelled?

If a group tour does not reach its minimum numbers, we will either offer for you to take your holiday on a private basis (which may involve a supplement), or you will be fully refunded.

How soon before departure might Grand Cultural Tours cancel a tour?

On the rare occasion that it is necessary to cancel a tour due to not reaching minimum numbers, this will be no later than 2 months before the departure date.

In the interests of the security and safety of travellers, Grand Cultural Tours may cancel a tour up to the time of departure, giving a full refund.

Why is there a supplement for solo travellers?

Hotel rooms cost the same regardless of occupancy, which means two people can split the cost of a room, whilst a single person pays the total cost. This difference in cost is the single person’s supplement.

We always negotiate with the hotels to keep single-occupancy prices as low as possible.

On average how many people will be on the trip?

Unless otherwise stated, on average each tour has between 10 and 22 travellers.

Can I pay the deposit over the phone? Which payment methods do you accept?

Yes, we accept...

Please note we do need a completed booking form before we can take any money.

Is my deposit refundable? Can I transfer my deposit to another tour?

In most cases deposits cannot be refunded or transferred because there are set costs that we incur on each tour: hotel deposits, for example, may have to be paid up to a year in advance of departure.

In some instances, where hotels are more flexible and give refundable deposits we will refund deposits.

How can I cancel my booking?

Up to 57 days before the tour, only the deposit is forfeit. Thereafter, a percentage of the total cost of the tour will be due:

  • between 56 and 29 days: 40%
  • between 28 and 15 days: 60%
